This Week at GBC! 

THIS WEEK AT GBC
 
On Sunday morning we are going to be introduced to our new Youth Minister, Rev. Sarah Greenfield Culp. We also have a missionary guest with us--Katherine Niles, who works in The Congo on public health issues. She'll be speaking and showing pictures of her ministry in our Forum at 11:00 AM.
 
The sermon this week continues the series on our unique identity, and the beliefs we share at GBC. This week's sermon is entitled "Faith and Growth."
 
Our Faith and Fiction group meets on Sunday night at 7:00 to discuss Barbara Kingsolver's novel "The Poisonwood Bible."
 
Next Sunday, Oct. 5th, we begin a series of classes called "Seekers and Joiners" at 8:30 AM. This class will discuss Baptist history and beliefs, baptism, and church membership. It is designed for those who may be considering Baptism, or joining the church--but is open to anyone who would like to come and learn more about us.

Spring Happenings at Greece Baptist Church!

Every spring Greece Baptist is blessed with an annual ritual…….birth.  Our mother duck, a Mallard, arrives in our courtyard and begins to build her nest.  Every Sunday we watch as she diligently sits on her nest in our very protected area.  She must be so pleased with herself to have found such a safe environment for her young!  Eventually we see her with her new ducklings and we rejoice.  Soon, she pecks at the door and we know it is time for her to leave.  We get out our boards and make a ramp up to the door and again at the opposite door across the foyer.  Then we open the doors and watch as she leads her family up the ramp, across the hall and out the front door.  We do not see her again until next spring!  During those long winters, we at GBC know we have something to look forward in the spring!
