What
We Do ~ Music Ministry
|
Attending
Greece Baptist Church provides you with a rich musical experience.
We
are truly blessed to have a vibrant music ministry composed of many
elements. Music Director John Montgomery and Organist Bruce Beardsley,
have expanded our music offerings to incorporate a tapestry of music
throughout our church life. Rather than choosing one type of music over
another, we have a successfully blended music program. The ministry
contains the following elements:
|
| Church
Choir - Comprised of church members who love to sing,
this group sings in nearly every church service. Either using
the hymnal or choral arrangements, they provide a base of
traditional music as well as folk and modern interpretations.
Holidays bring special music such as cantatas and guest musicians
from all over the Rochester area who supplement our core ensemble. |
| |
| Children's
Choir - The children are given music instruction weekly
with the knowledge that we are using our talents for God.
Their performances in the service are not reserved for special
occasions but are included as an integral portion of the music
experience. |
| |
|
|
| Bell
Choir - In addition to a full pipe organ and concert piano,
the church supports a bell choir which performs monthly. The
warmth of the bells always adds depth to our service. |
| |
| Youth
Bell Choir - Our newest ensemble, started in 2009, is
our Youth Bell Choir. The youth bell choir has their own set
of color-coded bells and sheet music designed for youth who
may not have previous musical experience. |
| |
| Revelation
- Our praise band has been in existence now for over a decade.
It has become a core element of our Sunday worship experience
bringing the sounds of contemporary Christian music into the
life of the church. Revelation also regularly performs in
the community and in concerts from western New York to New
England. |
